Dear US DOT:
I am Kevin
Dickinson, inventor of the Touch-Screen Camel! The TSC will surely be the future
of transportation in our fine country. It’s a real, living camel with a
touch-screen navigation system built into the back of its neck so that you can
sit on its hump and navigate your way through the desert with button-pressing
ease! No more using compasses and maps, and no more looking up into that
confusing night sky to find the right star to take you home. Nay! The
Touch-Screen Camel comes equipped with a standard GPS system, voice activation,
and personalized voice responses! (“You have chosen to turn left. Thank you
for choosing to turn left. If you wish to cancel turning left, please press the
cancel button now. You have chosen not to activate the cancellation of the
process of turning left. Now turning left.”)
The TSC, as
predicted by my Board of Smart People, will be a household appliance/pet by the
year 2015. Everyone will have one! It can be used on all terrains, EXCEPT for
everything except desert terrain. Furthermore, I will soon be developing the
CamelTunes™ ERES (En Route Entertainment System). It will receive XM satellite
radio and hopefully will be built right into the touch-screen panel on the back
of the camel’s neck. Also coming soon: the two-person navigation system! For
when one’s tired and needs a break. (Requires a two-hump camel) I am also
developing, as a small side project, the resizable camel cup holder for those
long journeys into the beating desert sun. (Will be built in)
I hope that
you will find the TSC both enjoyable and practical, and I expect them to be
popular, especially among people less fortunate than Aladdin, with his magical
rug. Please let me know what you think of my invention. How many will you be
ordering?
Sincerely,

Kevin
