Dear Farley’s
and Sathers Candy Company:
I am the
editor-in-chief of an equal rights newspaper for animals, called the Fair Animal
Rights Tribune. We publish a weekly newspaper that is nationally syndicated and
cover all sorts of issues regarding animals.
Last week’s
board meeting revealed that there exists a company, namely yours, that features
a gum-chewing zebra as its mascot. I understand your reasoning behind this
zebra, because of the name “FruitStripe Gum” but don’t you think zebras should
be sticking to, um, what zebras normally eat? Zebras should not chew gum, nor
should they be encouraged to. Your commercials and other forms of advertising
make me believe that you are trying to tell children to feed gum to zebras.
Their teeth just aren’t made for chewing rubbery substances! I am asking you to
remove this marketing campaign from the public eye and instead think of
something a little less animal-oriented (for their sake). Maybe you could have a
gum-chewing PERSON.
Sincerely,

Kevin
