Dear National Autistic Society,

As soon as I wogged onto your website, I knew I had to join your wondelful society. Dere are so many dedicated people wolking for you, and so much information on being autistic! I have always championed your cause. But dere is only one pwoblem: why are you twying to find a cure for autistic people? I have always been autistic myself and dere is nofing wong wif it.

Evwy day I wake up in the molning and I get out my paintbwush and paints and stawt making beautiful aut. Last week I painted a bowl of fwuit dat sold for ten thousand dollaws. But it’s not about deh money. I like being autistic for deh sake of being autistic. It’s about deh shapes and cullahs dat come out on deh canvas. It’s wepwesentative of my innah feelings and foughts.

So when I came acwoss certain details on your website, I became a wittle puzzled. You descwibe being autistic as having a disease. Dere’s nofing wong wif me! In fact, I can paint much bettah den most people! Twy captuwing deh sublimity of eweryday happenings on a blank canvas. It’s difficult, isn’t it.

So what exactly awe you twying to do? Do you hate beautiful aut? If so, just don’t go to museums. Dere is no need to campaign against us. To me, aut is a necessawy pawt of my life. It compwetes my soul. Please stop this nonsense at once!

Sincewely,
