Dear Hershey,

I am afraid to eat your candy ever again. It is so good. But there is something horribly wrong with the package. Right there, smack dab on the front of the box, is a smiling robin. Bear in mind this is a box of robin eggs. If I were a robin I would not be smiling if factories were stealing my eggs and selling them as food! It is clearly a deranged mother robin who takes pleasure in people eating her babies in mass quantities. Or maybe it is the father robin who is happy he doesn’t have to pay child support since the eggs are being eaten.

But we both agree that normal robins lay eggs so they can hatch, right? Then why is the one on your package smiling!? I am perturbed, disturbed, and utterly scared. Please explain this to me!

“Hey, eat my eggs as candy!” Clearly this is a psychologically damaged robin!!! What’s with that!?

Sincerely,

Kevin Dickinson

Another bland, politically-correct corporate response. I suppose it's better than nothing.
